Une Puberté
Es la pubertad, etapa de
revolución hormonal y de incertidumbres. El dibujo aun infantil del elefante, el
rojo, color del instinto, fondo aún limpio, la modelo, mi madre a sus quince,
ubicada viendo al futuro y con un dejo de tristeza por no tener a la suya desde
sus dos añitos.
Adolescence: the stage of hormonal explosion and uncertainty. The
drawing of the red elephant is still quite childish...the background is still
stainless.
My mother, at the age of 15 is in the foreground, scrutinizing the
future with a kind of sad look in her eyes for not having had hers by her side
since she was two.
Une Maternité
Es la maternidad, esa expresión
de una confirmación de embarazo, esa risa y a la vez miedito...podre ser buena
madre ??? El amarillo por ser el color de la alegria y la comunicación y dos
elefantes, madre e hijo. La modelo, mi madre y una mano inventada mirando su
pasado sin SU mamá.
Matenity. Her expression –
particularly her smile - clearly shows that her pregnancy has been confirmed.
Her fears can’t be concealed, “will she be able to be a good mother?”
I used yellow as a sign of happiness and communication; the two
elephants depict a Mother and her Child.
The woman on the foreground, is my own Mother and the hand symbolizes
her having been an orphan since her early childhood
Une Maturité
Madurez, ya viendo el pasado,
con sus arrugas y la mano bajo su mentón casi descansando, con cierta expresión
de paz, de haber cumplido !! El mamut representa las raíces, los orígenes y el
azul es la razón, lo mental. El fondo ya muy cargado con claros y oscuros! Con
manchas, con ese HABER VIVIDO !!!!
Maturity: Looking back… her wrinkles, her hand resting on her chin, with
a kind of peaceful expression for having accomplished her goals !!
The mammoth represents the roots, the origins, and the blue color
symbolizes reason and mental processes.
Here, in contrast with “Une Puberte”,
I purposefully painted the background
with dark and light sections…its stains represent the fact of HAVING
LIVED !!!!!!
